What it was like working with Dead bodies in Branson-Blog #83

What it was like working with Dead Bodies in Branson, mo

I had really felt like I had hit an all time low. A theater I was doing marketing at, had gone out of business, and left everyone holding the bag, for their last checks. I had nowhere to go work wise, and had to find something fast. The owner of the theater had left owing 30k in payroll and 10 percent of that was mine.
I had a friend who had secured a job at a local attraction, and had called me to come and work for her. I didn't want to go back to consulting for the Hotel business just yet, and wanted to see what else was out there. At first I didn't realize, dead bodies were involved. I just thought these were displays of the muscle, tissue, and organs of the Human body. Which was correct, but what I would soon learn, would be a game changer.
I started working there and the first thing I noticed is the publics amazing fascination with the Human body, real or unreal they got it, and wanted more of it. But something stuck out even bigger than working around dead bodies all day. The people of Branson have such an entitlement to free stuff when a new show comes to town. They think they should get in for free to everything and maybe even given a T shirt as well. Also the kind folks of Treasure lake told their people that they owned the building and the show that was in there. And that they were entitled to Free admittance as they were considered "Owners". Both lies in my book. I argued often and much with the ole Owners of Treasure lake. They were going to have to pay, just like everyone else.
I also measured the reactions of most of the folks that came to this exhibition. Some people were very scared to go in from the get go. They either had quickly devised that preserved dead bodies were inside, or the exhibition just plain scarred them.  Couples of all kinds  came to the show, who were in the like mind of having kids soon. And used the exhibition as a primer to get familiar with the whole process of Human functioning. On the weekend of the 4th of July, we gave a local discount for the surrounding areas. But it had certain stipulations. You had to be from these certain areas, and you could only bring your kids. Families were rounding up kids in their, neighborhoods, and bringing them even though they weren't even in their family and expecting to get in for area appreciation. It was like $5 bucks or something. A few times I had to clean certain body parts and would blow dust off of these exhibits a mile high. It was kind of creeping, cleaning a dead arm, but someone had to do it. And again I was at an all time low in my work career. When they decided to close the show down, as they didn't feel they were making enough money, they gave me all of the posters form the show, and I sold a few of them on ebay. They were making a lot of money here, but felt like they could make more money in another market, so they moved on.
