 Movies that were filmed in Branson.  Every so often I will do some looking around to see what movies were filmed, right here in ole Branson, MO. Some have even spawned careers. Here's a top 5.  1) Ozarks Legacy and Legend-showing daily at the Branson Imax, this is a great film on the history of the Ozarks. A must see if you have a moment.  2) Game of Pawns-starring non other than Branson's Scott Velvett  an avid car collector and owner of the car shop up on the majestic strip, next to legends.  3) We always lie to strangers-a Netflix staple this one is not to be missed. Quite controversal this video tries to portray that there is some kind of illusion about Branson. Not true what you see is what you get.   4) The Beverly Hillbillies went to SDC and their car is housed at College of the Ozarks. What a great moment in time.  5) Winter's Bone-starring sweet little Jennifer Lawrence in an Oscar level Performance and really explains the under cur...

Here is a hotel review that was posted this week. I don't agree with lumping this hotel in with all of Branson. Hotels go through very challenging depreciation,and if not looked after can snow ball. Shows have died out true, but there is still so much to do here.  Has Completely Lost It's Shine  ( A hotel high rise here) Have been staying here for years when visiting Branson. Prior visits were mostly great. Now this hotel has sunk to an extreme low. Our rooms were not ready at 4:30 pm and there were very few guests registered. The bathroom was a mess--soap and shampoo dispensers did not work, mattresses lumpy, pillows lumpy, and heat/ac unit very loud, They normally have a great breakfast on the 9th floor but this Holiday week end was a surprise (not previously known--sign posted in elevator) coffee and processed muffins in the 1st floor coffee room in a cold environment. The Grand Plaza seems to reflect much of the perceived status of Branson in general--seems to be dying out...

 There are a ton of ways to save in Branson, Mo. With a little thought, and some sweet care, you could save a ton, without doing a time share. People see timeshares as an easy solution, and end up walking away with a 6k purchase they have to cancel when the go home.  1) Pick what your going to do before you come. Scope out your favorite restaurants and see what clubs they have available. Pick one touristy place, one franchise, and one of the beaten path. I ate at Panda house at Bee creek road, and got 20% off for joining their club. So it was a $45 meal and I pad $35 for the whole family. That 10 bucks can go in the tank.  2) Join Casey's rewards-we have them all over the place here in Branson and Springfield/Ozark.  3) Join Gasbuddy-you'll get cash back on everything you buy, especially the gas. And it's accepted at all Casey's here in Branson as well.  4) Stay Sunday through Thursday at your hotel. Call the front desk not expedia, and ask them if they have any...

The don'ts of visiting Branson, Mo  Hi Everyone! I hope all is well on your trek through all that is Branson, Mo. This is the place to have a nice lo key vacation, with no hassles except the traffic.  There is so much to see and do on your trip, that I thought I might include things you shouldn't do, just to help you navigate a bit.  1) DONT DO A TIME SHARE PRESENTATION -I haven't ever heard of one yet that turned out good. The person that sells you on the tour, isn't the person who meets you at the presentation center. Sure they offer you some nice shows, attractions and different things, but a 90 minute presentation, really isn't 90 minutes. So don't do it, find other ways to save money, like 2 for 1 tickets up on the strip.  2) Don't come to town without a hotel reservation -sure there are lots of hotels here, but the really, really well reviewed ones, don't always have rooms!
