                   Branson-Local News Blog Well its official. Karen best won the mayoral election yesterday. Fantastic news for Branson. But was there something that tainted local awareness in regards to our current mayor. I think so. The scorecard resulted in a 900-738 vote for Best. Some could gander that last weeks insensitivity by the city and the April fools day joke, were heavy levy on this years election. If you haven't had a chance to read my Richard Branson backlash article, it might be time to do that. Since this prank has affected the turnout of the Branson election.  Backlash from Richard Branson joke! I'm really a fan of our current mayor and Best as well. So maybe it was time for a change. It will be interesting to see what changes Karen Best will make, and we here at Branson Local wish her, well the best. 

People are Crazy . That is self evident by the things they do in their everday lives, and the things they do on vacation. As much as Branson strives to do creat a safe happy environment for the vacationers here. Many people see a vacation as something that needs to be daring, adventourous, and for some down right dangerous. Here are the top five things you can do on vacaction in Branson, that may not be such a good idea. Scuba diving can be dangerous and Branson boasts of some of the best places to dive around. You have to be licensed but their are a lot of things to see, in this here table rock lake. One of the great best kept secrets in B-town is actually what you can do in your down  time. When your not seeing a luxurious show, or eating at a great Restaurant, you can relax (as Frankie would say) in one of our awesome swimming pools. 1) Castle Rock - completly designed to be a destination, and not just an attraction this sleep and slumber hotel & waterpark, is not to be missed. Location: Located on Green Mountain drive, across from Stone Castle Hotel, this is right next to Wyndham. All  the renovations are done, and the Jacuzzi in the Third building is ready to go. After your stay go on tripadvisor and  leave a review about what agreat time you had. Just going across the drawbridge to enter this property is worth the price of admission, which is one nights room rental. ...

In Branson we love our shows, and we love our area. But the theater business these days, has been a turbulant market. Since the Branson Mall was hit by the Leap Year Tornnado, a lot of shows haven't had a place to call home. With the season resuming to a nine month schedule, shows have had to tighten their belt. We're wishing these shows a possible great 1015.  1) The 80's Ladies- this was a great show. But due to dwindleing crowd numbers and one of the lead performers going over to the Baldknobbers, there is a stong possibility that these 80's Ladies have sung their last song.  2) Taylor Reed -two previous seasons at the Old Kirby Vanburch theater, he made the best go of it Possible. I did stop in and see this show, and it was excellent. Hopefully he will end up somewhere this year.  3) Kirby Vanburch- a staple at the Lodge of the Ozarks , Kirby did his best to hose an upclose and personal show at the Lodge. His show closed at the end of 2014.  4) Thunderbird ...

I must say, in Branson we have some of the Hardest working housekeepers anywhere. They work hard all day, drive from other parts of Missouri,Oklahoma,and Arkansas. And are some of the hardest workers anywhere. Thats why I thought this was an appropriate title for the Housekeepers who do the turn down service for our guests here in Branson. Next time you get a chance, leave a good tip for the Housekeepers, they Deserve it! Turnt down for what-tips that's what. 

What's not to like about this Branson icon. Playing for the likes of the Beach Boys,Roy Clark theater, The Grand Palace, this Ace on the guitar has done it all. One of the featured players at the Grand Palace, he has played all over Branson. Songs like the Wichitaw Lineman,Rhinestone Cowboy, and Gentle on my mind. Fill out this songwriters resume. Owner of the Roy Clark Celebrity Theater right next to  Lodge of the Ozarks  across from  Jim Stafford  he helped a lot of entertainers get their start in the early 90's during the Branson boom. He hosted entertainers from all walks of Country music such as: Marie Osmond, Glen Campbell,Mickey Gilley, and Louis Mandrell. His theater hosted over 900 seats, and had Roy's loft and Dinner theater upstairs. Greg Brady anyone? A very Barry Branson is about Barry Williams a.k.a. (Gregg Brady) starting a show in Branson and how hard its been for him. The show is on GAC great American Country which is also host to  Branson Famous  another Branson reality show. Also involved in the show are the Haygoods.  The Amazing Haygoods

An American entertainer, better known for appearing in the movie Urban Cowboy with John Travolta. Performing everday on the 76 strip, right next to  Lodge of the Ozarks . He can still be seen in Branson at his theater and Restaurant. Famous cousing include Jerry Lee Lewis, and Jimmy Swaggert. All piano players. A great new show on GAC (Great American country) this Branson show is making some good headlines. And hopefully helping this Branson show make a comeback.
