Their was a lot of news in Branson this month. With the coming season upon us, lots of exciting changes are coming our way. From the Ultimate Elvis contest, to a new shopping strip opening up.      The Old thunderbird Theater Is being torn down, and a stip mall is going up. Home to many Branson entertainers, this majestic historic theater, is leaving the fold on Highway 76. Moe Bandy, Clay Cooper,Jim Owen, and Willie P Richardson, among many that played here. Under many names, this incredible theater will be no more. Gallagher also played here and smashed watermelons on people's heads, and called this theater a home for a brief time. More retail maybe what rules the day right now here in Branson, but the theater life will always be what Branson is about.

I must say, in Branson we have some of the Hardest working housekeepers anywhere. They work hard all day, drive from other parts of Missouri,Oklahoma,and Arkansas. And are some of the hardest workers anywhere. Thats why I thought this was an appropriate title for the Housekeepers who do the turn down service for our guests here in Branson. Next time you get a chance, leave a good tip for the Housekeepers, they Deserve it! Turnt down for what-tips that's what.

What's not to like about this Branson icon. Playing for the likes of the Beach Boys,Roy Clark theater, The Grand Palace, this Ace on the guitar has done it all. This hotel has seen all the stars. Enjoying spillover from the Grand Palace . From the Oak Ridge boys, to Styx, to Collective soul, they've all stayed in this almost 500 room hotel.       An experience renovation in 2008, this hotel is well kept, and maintained. A must stay on your next stop to Branson. They have king suits, two full size bed suites, and single queen suites. Conveniently located next to Green Mountain drive, this is a must see. Built around 1993 the Grand Palace was owned by Silver Dollar City. Among its 4000 seats, was a grand staircase, huge parking lot, and spacious dressing rooms for stars. Hosting stars such as Louis Mandrell,Glenn Campbell, Lori Morgan, Styx,Collective soul and many more. This was the place to play back in the day. Located right across the street from  Melody Lane Inn  this theater was just a stones throw away from Shopping and dining options.       As of 2014 this theater has had many owners and was partially owned by the FDIC. The Grand Lady has had its share of ups and downs. Purchased by a new company in 2014, we shall see what's on the horizon for the Grand Lady.  See Also  Haygoods New Reality show

Owner of the Roy Clark Celebrity Theater right next to  Lodge of the Ozarks  across from  Jim Stafford  he helped a lot of entertainers get their start in the early 90's during the Branson boom. He hosted entertainers from all walks of Country music such as: Marie Osmond, Glen Campbell,Mickey Gilley, and Louis Mandrell. His theater hosted over 900 seats, and had Roy's loft and Dinner theater upstairs. All the meals for the Dinner Theater were hosted from a makeshift kitchen created next to the office upstates.  See Also  Haygoods New Reality show

A Branson staple for almost 40 years in Branson. This hotel was hit by the 2012 Leap year Tornado. The Damage from the storm was so substantial that the hotel was forced to close. Several estimates were given, and damage was in the millions. Hosting Branson groups like the Mooselodge from Illinois, to Grand tours for over 20 years. This hotel is hoped to make a comeback. The website is still up and running  melodylanebranson.com  and also its Sister site  Bransonisfun.com  also this hotel is located right next to the  The Baldknobbers Country music jamboree  and right across from the  The Clarion Hotel . Also across from the Grand Village and The Grand Palace, this Hotel was the place to stay. Open all year round except a couple of months a year. Right across from the   The Baldknobbers Country music jamboree   this hotel is owned by the previous owners of the Melody Lane Inn . Origionally the Palace Hotel, its title and namesake seemed to be linked to the Grand Palace. But I'm not sure that was ever the case. The Haygoods have had an amazing last few years. And 2016 has been no different. Work ethic,creativity, drive, and desire to be the best, are traits that have propelled them to the moon in Branson. This family just won't quit.       This Branson family got their start out at Silver Dollar City. Drawing record crowds out there and it made sense for them to move to their own established spot. Appearing right now at The Clay Cooper theater, these guys can do it all.      I was surprised not to see the Haygoods back on GAC with their own amazing show, so maybe that is something in the works for the future. Greg Brady anyone? A very Barry Branson is about Barry Williams a.k.a. (Gregg Brady) starting a show in Branson and how hard its been for him. An American entertainer, better known for appearing in the movie Urban Cowboy with John Travolta. Performing everday on the 76 strip, right next to  Lodge of the Ozarks . He can still be seen in Branson at his theater and Restaurant. Famous cousing include Jerry Lee Lewis, and Jimmy Swaggert. All piano players. Yakov Smirnoff's origional name is Yakov Naumovich Pokhis he is a Soviet-born comedian, actor and writer. He immigrated to the United States in 1977, Smirnoff began performing as a stand-up comic and appeared in several movies,and sit-calms. Including Night Coart and Moscow on the Hudson. He is now performing in Branson in October and November and on the road the rest of the year. He is also the creator of Hot Winter fun, and is a must see when you come to Branson. His theater is located on highway 76 right across from Lodge of the Ozarks  . Jerry Presley is Elvis Presley's  Cousin. And is slated to play at the Jim Stafford theater for 2015. That's right. The King of Branson Comedy is coming back. That's right Jim Stafford   is coming back.  And will be here for the 2015 season. Staffords says he will pull out all the stops,and do things he's never done before. The theater has sat dorment (as so many theaters have) and went under a renovation over the last year. As it was being prepared for its return. Stafford took the year off, and head to other markets to entertain and rest. The first shows are slated for April this coming year, and Jerry Presley  (Elvis's cousin) will perform alongside Stafford.
