 Another very successful flat creek visit in the bag. And as usual the food was amazing. We mixed it up this time, but we still had to have those Not-yo-cheese, Nachos. They were fantastic as usual. And my wife and I split another meal as usual, and bought our son some catfish, which he always loves.       The do's and dont's of Branson, mo       This has always been my most controversial article. The do's  and dont's of Branson, mo. I think this is a  pretty good list and has a lot of things to do, based on  personal  opinion. It's a great article to check out,  and there are a lot of good things to consider on your way to Branson.     Ray Steven's theater early 90's  When I was just a kid, I worked for Ray Stevens in his brand new theater. On a nightly basis you  would see UFO's landing on the stage, and camels all over the bright read carpet. People were so excited  to be in Branson, and flocked to the 2000 seat theater. Traffic was a mess, but they didn't car and would  fill up the multi layered parking lot. Ray was very reclusive and he would run with a security crew from his upstairs office, to the main office below on the first floor. It was so people wouldn't stop him and want  to talk,  At the Grand opening, Burt & Lanni Anderson showed up, as well as Chet Atkins who he  introduces. Amazing musicians seemed to flock back stage. Including Glenn Campbell at one point. Ray  was selling 2,000 seats a night and 1000 seats during the day, and that was unprecedented. Unbeknownst  to anyone, Ray had a three year plan in Branson, and then he'd be gone, and ...

        Fresh Horses came out in 1988, well beyond the release of St. Elmos fire, and Breakfast club. Which put Andrew Mcarthy on the map, along with Molly Ringwald. The bratt pack, as they were referred too, wasn’t something any of the members wanted. Not Molly Ringwald, Mccarthy, or Judd Nelson. Making their way through the murky waters off super stardom, debilitating nicknames were common, and could slow a career. But with wild horses, it was a good stopping point to all the teen oriented movies released in the 80’s. And a box office cow for the movie makers.  Also far away, was Less than Zero, which launched the careers of Jamie Gertz and Sir Robert Downey Jr ( Iron Man). It depicts the drug addled early L.A. 80's and is one of my favorite movies. Definitely worth checking out as well. Long live the Bratt pack!

  What will replace the famed chicken house?      Always mired in controversy it seems the chicken house is now permanently closed. What will be going in the famed location on highway 76? Seen above Dennis Quade seemed to love the giant chicken located in front of the frequently visited restaurant.       However, I'm not sure Dennis ate at the restaurant, as it has had it's share of dismissive reviews. For the past few years, the reviews have finally caught up and it has closed. I hate to see things closing down here. There is an urgency to keep things clean, up to date and read to go.
