The Travel Buddy has been around for over 10 years, that I know of, and was started by a hotelier named Jim Bates. The reason its so popular among hotel managers and owners is because it comes in under the wire, and Hoteliers aren't called to the carpet by Expedia, Travelocity, and other third party vendors. And it does what it says, offers a steep discount. My wife and I just used it in December to stay at a brand hotel in St. Louis for $49.00. The hotel was booking that night for $119.00 a night. It also can include breakfast at times, and that is yet another huge savings. 5 Steps to using the travel buddy. 1)Go to Travelbuddy.com and request a travel buddy book, or check your nearest gas station (preferably on the interstate that carries the travelbuddy 2) call the hotel and see if they are taking the travelbuddy for the dates that you will be traveling. 3) Some hotels take it via reservations, others do not. If they want you to bring it in, and will not take a reservation, go to step #4 4. As you depart to travel call the hotel first thing and tell them when you'll be arriving. And ask them if it would be ok to use the coupon. 5. ONe thing to look out for is every hotel is different. Some tier there rates, and other just have a flat rate.
