I always remember Wayne Newton having a theater here. It was purchased after Wayne had it, by
Gene Bicknell, and Johnny Cash was even in there, at one point . He had a double show with Tony
Orlando and did pretty well for a while.
He hired local musicians and sang all the hits! Then things got a little bumpy in the road and he was having trouble with his co
headlining act. He and the other entertainer starting recording each other, and things like that.
Eventually the show couldn't go on and they parted ways. But it was fun while it lasted, seeing Wayne's
picture on the mast head of that theater.
