What the Beastie Boys had to do with Pro wrestling
Per an interview with Rick Rubin in the early days, the Boys loved Pro Wrestling. And took their nod
from it, with their interactions with the media. They would say the most outlandish things in interviews to
create traction the days before Social Media. And it worked. I remember them saying on MTV how they
wanted musicians to bring their gear to the shows and they would buy the gear on the spot! I wonder how
many kids lugged their gear up and down stairwells, only to get to the show and be disappointed. That
was the Beasties for you!
