Living in Branson is awesome. But not all the time. It's a great place, with lots to offer. And some of the nicest people on this planet earth. But there are some drawbacks, so here is a list of just a few. Please leave a comment down below, and subscribe to this blog.
)Everyone is always on vacation-that's right, everyone but you. There is always a mix of people having a fantastic vacation, and then people living day to day. Its hard to find a shoulder to cry on when everyone is from out of town. About 10,000 locals manage over 4 Million tourists. So its hard when everyone is always on vacation.
)Traffic-if you live in town or around Branson. Traffic can be crazy. You trying to get to the market to get that carton of eggs. Sometimes its just not going to happen.
)Health Care-a very limited offering here in Branson. Babies and heart disease is our forte. And anything else you almost need to go to Springfield for.
)limited Restaurants offerings-once you've worked your way through all 13 of our Subway restuarants, Mcdonalds,Wendy's and just about any fast food chain. Its hard to find something unique. Springfield again is the option to go and have something special.
)Meth-that's right I said the M word. There is quite a bit here. And the transient job situation feeds this ever growing problem. When you can work by the day and get paid that day, it makes it easy to acquire cash to buy Meth. We've had a problem here with this substance for years, but nobody really talks about it.
)Lack of a variety of Jobs-If you move here, you've got to do something in theaters, hotels, or restaurants. Thats about all there is. Its not very diverse, but needs to be. Trades need to be created to have a very robust annual economy, and not just a 9 month economy. But as of this year, I haven't seen anything like that. OTC has moved a school into town, and that's great. And C of O has always been here. But we need more welders, electricians, computer people, advertising experts and on and on.
)/Higher prices everywhere in the City limits. Our stores charge additional taxes, and higher prices on a gallon of milk or a carton of eggs. Gas is also very high. And theirs no way to get it cheaper until you drive to Springfield.
)Limited crowded roads-when town is full, everyone leaves the same way. Even though we have many roads. East 76 is crowded on Sunday morning, because everyone is headed home. there are tons of ways out of town, but you wouldn't think it.
)Stores go in and out of business-a lot. I've bought so many stores out that have gone in and out of business. I've gotten so good i can almost predict when a business is going to go out.
)To many music shows-at one time we had 132 music shows. Mostly because of the Branson mall and different theaters. The more shows and attractions the less room for marketing. So this has leveled out a bit.
